Solaren’s Leadership Team Completes Annual Retreat

This week, Solaren Risk Management completed their annual Leadership Team Retreat. This year’s retreat had been a work in progress. In January, the team set out for Sevierville, Tennessee. What was supposed to be a six-day retreat, with each half of the team completing two education days and two team-building days, was cut short after three days due to severe weather.

The team completed three additional days locally over several weeks in April.

First, our remaining team members completed the education and training portion postponed when severe weather forced shortening of the Sevierville trip.

Next, the entire team assembled for a day of brainstorming and team building. Here, the future of Solaren Risk Management was discussed in detail and the team discussed what we as leaders could do to ensure that we continue to grow while providing excellent customer service to the clients and communities we serve. That night, CEO Jack Byrd III treated the team and their spouses/significant others to dinner at the famous Jimmy Kelly’s Steakhouse.

Finally, the team had a day away from the office.

This was a day to get to know each other not just as co-workers, but as human beings. The key to a successful workplace is people, and this was an opportunity for our team to have some fun and learn things about each other that we didn’t already know. The day consisted of bowling, a video arcade, eating great food and just laughing and having fun together.

When asked how he felt about his team Jack stated,

“Thank God for these men and women and all they do; moreover, thank God for all they are to so many. I will take on any challenge with this group…except bowling, apparently that’s our kryptonite”.

“Safety aware, because we care.”
