Solaren Supports Tanger Outlet’s Grand Opening Weekend

Tanger Outlet opened in Antioch, TN the weekend of October 27th through the 29th with the help of Solaren’s security, traffic and law enforcement divisions. The Solaren leadership team spent the weeks leading up to Tanger’s grand opening diligently preparing equipment and personnel to guarantee smooth operations for the outlet. Security was on-site starting patrols Wednesday the 25th with a full team of law enforcement, security, traffic control and leadership present from Thursday through Sunday for the duration of the opening event.

Nashville’s first open-concept mall and Tanger’s 27th mall nationwide saw thousands of visitors over the opening weekend without major incident and we are very proud to be a part of that accomplishment.

The mall hosts 60 stores including major names like Adidas, Coach, Pottery Barn, Nike, Ugg and so many more! The outlet consists of a 290,000 square-foot location with restaurants, stores and an event space in the center called The Green. This miniature park is perfect for outdoor events and activities along with a convenient playground for kids.

This major retail center helps to provide jobs for the community with approximately 700 employed during construction and some 1,100 part-time and permanent staffing all retail operations. This outlet will help to breathe new life into southeast Nashville while also innovating the traffic plan for the area to allow for such a large footprint. New exits and roads had to be constructed to grant access to this property, with Cane Ridge Parkway running directly through the footprint and Century Farms Parkway acting as an exit off of I-24 while connecting to Hickory Hollow Parkway for drivers’ convenience.

Solaren was well-equipped for this event

Solaren was well-equipped for this event with multiple command centers, UTV’s to roam the footprint, 11 total message boards on the interstate and surrounding roads, water barricades and other traffic signs to maximize the efficiency of detours and traffic flow for the locals and visitors. Solaren was highly mobile within the outlet with multiple ATV’s and UTV’s for rapid response times and constant perimeter surveillance. One of our most advanced command centers even included multiple TV monitors for not only dispatch, but also live viewing of drone surveillance.

Our traffic officers guided people toward available parking and the proper entrances and exits in order to maintain a constant flow of traffic to grant all visitors the opportunity to explore the outlet. This included managing the flow from I-24 directly along with all major intersections and entrances in and around the mall area. Our security patrolled the perimeter to maintain a level of safety against any unauthorized visitors or attempted shoplifting. The most important aspect of our security roaming the property was to act as a deterrent for any criminal activity and ensure that all visitors were aware that we were available to help in any capacity. Our staff made sure that medical was notified when needed, Tanger’s security team was aware of any and all situations and had the necessary support to guarantee the success of this eventful weekend.
