Solaren Kicks off the Holidays with a Successful Black Friday Weekend

Another year, another Black Friday weekend at Opry Mills Mall and Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Throughout the year, Solaren staffs law enforcement officers, security, traffic control and more at both of these premier locations. During the holiday season, our staffing multiplies to match the influx of patrons shopping, visiting the hotel to view the lights and other holiday attractions, and the increased number of workers at both locations that make it all possible. Our focus, as always, is to ensure the safety and security of everyone involved, with an emphasis on the traffic pattern and the numerous guests on foot at the two properties.

Any Nashvillian that has visited the area around the holiday season has seen the lines on Briley Parkway waiting to get into the mall, and the lanes of cars lined up to see Opryland’s beautiful light display.

Our traffic control and off duty law enforcement officers were on site to ensure the ingress and egress of vehicular traffic went smoothly, and foot traffic made it across all intersections and roadways safely. They controlled the flow of traffic in and out of the properties with the use of our traffic control signage and wands, by maintaining control of the traffic lights, and their extensive experience and knowledge of the traffic pattern and the properties’ footprints. There were minimal backups throughout the day, and we have our dedicated traffic control team to thank for that.

As a forward-thinking company, Solaren does not hesitate to utilize the best and most advanced technology on the roads. Our fleet boasts truck-mounted attenuators which have the primary function of absorbing the energy and impact of the crash during a collision. We use the Scorpion II TMA model from TrafFix Devices which has been MASH tested and approved. All 4 of our units were deployed over the weekend in case of incident on Briley Parkway and will continue to be utilized throughout the holidays.

Over at the mall, business was booming.

Although we staff off-duty law enforcement at Opry Mills Mall seven days a week to provide a presence and manage the Youth Supervision Program, for Black Friday weekend our staffing increases even more. We have officers assigned to roving patrols, managing the doors to ensure all minors are accompanied, and providing extra security at some of the individual stores. With the numerous officers providing a professional and authoritative presence, we were there to ensure all patrons had a safe and enjoyable shopping experience, and any incidents or attempts at criminal activity were properly and swiftly resolved.

We have worked Black Friday weekend at Opry Mills and Opryland for multiple years in a row now,

…and we have to say this was another great success. Our leadership team spent the weeks leading up this busy weekend in planning meetings to ensure all of our staff were prepared and all aligned with the common goal of keeping everyone safe and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all those visiting the two venues. Our efforts paid off, and we were pleased with the outcome of each day as we shut down for the night. We care deeply about the values and missions of our clients and our goal is to ensure the part we play in the operations for those clients is just as successful as they are.
