Solaren Risk Management is piloting a new program utilizing body cameras for a very simple reason:
…we want to ensure the safety of our community and officers. We are one of the only private security companies in this region of the United States implementing these cameras as we believe in equipping our staff and clients with the absolute best protection available. Our goal is to always remain accountable and show integrity in our actions, and the footage from these cameras will provide the facts about any incident so we can live out these values better than ever before.
We are adopting body cameras that are highly capable and updated with the most modern technology accessible in today’s market.
Our units have built-in GPS for accurate location stamping, high-definition video recording, high-resolution photo mode and battery life capable of lasting an entire shift. Body cameras have been adopted by law enforcement agencies around the world for the purpose of protecting their community and officers in stressful and hazardous situations. These cameras also come with attachments for various uniforms and plain clothes our officers and guards may wear along with all the accessories they need to be completely mobile and self-reliant.
Wednesday, January 31st, our Law Enforcement Division coordinator, Joey Grosser, hosted our first training course for select officers who will be using these body cameras in the field. This class involved context from Joey’s experience with using body cameras in his law enforcement career along with the officers selected for this program as their departments have implemented them as well. This prior experience ensures that those testing this new equipment know exactly how to use it and react with it as part of their routine each shift. These cameras will be activated for every call, code and incident to ensure that the facts are accessible through video footage which we collect for identification and confirmation of verbal statements.
Body cameras were instituted to protect the community and responding officers on every call;
…they hold everyone accountable and ensure that justice is served appropriately. The officers selected for this program work at client locations with a higher risk for incidents as they have higher populations of staff and visitors, so we believe that these cameras will be invaluable in protecting both the clients and our officers from legal recourse. These cameras are one more tool in their kit we provide to better enhance our services for our clients and the safety of our staff.
We are safety aware because we care about our team and the visitors and locals of Nashville. We prioritize the security of our clients and their patrons while also ensuring our officers are fully equipped for the challenges they may face. Stay tuned each week for our regular news stories about hot topics in the industry and what big projects we are working on next!
